Sharing wisdom from one generation to the next
At Three Things Co., we believe in the transformative power of storytelling to heal the past, empower the present, and shape the future. Through workshops and performances, we create spaces for older adults to rewrite their narratives, for youth to dream boldly, and for anyone feeling unheard to reclaim their voices.
What We Do
Our programs, Unsent, Healing Futures, and 3rd Act Life Reviews, are our Three Things. We bring storytelling to life through interactive programs that help people process, reflect, and create. From youth using music to reimagine their futures to older adults preserving their life stories, our programs provide room for self-expression, connection, and transformation.
“Indeed when one heart speaks, all hearts fly. This is what it means to be great–to speak what feels unspeakable and have it release what waits in us all.”
– Mark Nepo, The Book of Awakenings
Healing Futures
Hip-Hop, Songwriting & Creative Expression for Youth to Envision Brighter Futures
Healing Futures is a music-based program empowering youth to dream beyond their circumstances by using hip-hop and songwriting as tools for self-expression and goal setting. Through lyric writing and performance, young people envision brighter futures and take creative control of their narratives.
This is a space where creativity becomes possibility, and where young people get to imagine who they can become.
Healing Futures is led by hip-hop artist, Old Man Saxon. Check out his new song, Seven Days:
Unsent Show
A Storytelling Experience for Unspoken Words, Shared Truths & Community Connection
Unsent is a storytelling experience where people share the messages they wrote but never sent— funny, heartbreaking, and everything in between. Through live events, workshops, and a podcast, Unsent transforms unspoken words into powerful moments of community, connection, and catharsis.
Join us as we turn the things we never said into stories that bring people together.
3rd Act Life Reviews
Honor Stories, Capture Wisdom & Preserve Legacy
A Life Review Interview is a guided process of looking back on your life to make sense of where you’ve been, what you’ve learned, and where you are going. The practice taps into the developmental need we all have to reflect and make meaning as we age. While the experience can be deeply therapeutic, it is not formal therapy or an oral history.
3rd Act Life Reviews offer a heartfelt, intentional way to honor your life journey, capture your voice, and record memories for yourself and your loved ones.

Brittany Ballard
Program Director
Britt is a mother, writer, filmmaker, host of Unsent live show and podcast, and co-founder of the new healing arts nonprofit Three Things with her husband, rap artist Old Man Saxon. She’s a trained End of Life Doula through Peaceful Presence, and she guides older adults through 3rd Act Life Review Interviews as part of her legacy work offerings. She makes music as Baby Luck (she's not a singer but she can sing!) and more music will be pouring out of her soon. She really loves hosting Unsent Show and is expanding the show in exciting ways, so stay tuned! She’s grappling with grief and freedom, so she's currently writing a film about a daughter whose mom asks her to help her die, and a TV series about a barber turned death doula that she pitched at SeriesFest Pitch-a-thon and won, amongst many other short stories and essays! She also writes The Overflow on Substack, which is her happy place. She’s going to write a book someday, or maybe she already is?
